Chapter Presidents Invited to Cabcon

The disconnect between chapters and cabinet remains great. To remedy this fundamental struggle in our state, I would invite chapter presidents to CabCon in order to connect them with cabinet and each other. Chapter presidents would be tasked with laying out the general timeline of their chapters including collaborative activities with other chapters. This will also allow chapter presidents to utilize cabinet support early on in the year to enhance the capacity of chapters later on.

New Idea Application
Leadership Training

CabCon and chapter president’s meetings will feature training on basic JSA skills that ALL members should have the capabilities to do. This includes working on JSA elevator pitches, fundraising tactics, tips and tricks on having positive school administration relations, recruitment, and engaging chapters meetings.

On the cabinet application, the general questions section will include a portion asking each applicant to list a new event, or idea that they would like to see implemented in JSA. Oftentimes, the best additions to JSA are new ideas, from Olympia Day to the New Faces Initiative. By providing a formal opportunity for every interested leader in JSA to send in their ideas will allow new cabinet members to feel heard while also innovating within the organizations. The best ideas will be discussed and executed on by the person who submitted the idea, with the support of the Governor, LTG, and any necessary cabinet or chapter personnel.
