CIA Notification Policy

When CIA agents are made aware of an issue with one of their assigned chapters, their assignment will not be complete until they notify the Director of CIA, the regional mayor, and the relevant department head(s). For example, if a chapter is struggling with having engaging meetings, the regional mayor, Director of CIA, and Director of Debate will all be notified by the CIA agent to remedy the issue as soon as the state is made aware of it. Mayors will also be included on CIA department calls to preemptively monitor the status of chapters and assignments.

Rethinking State Communication

As Facebook become less ubiquitous among JSAers, new forms of communication need to utilized to ensure state and chapter convention information as well as debate and other JSA event notifications are reaching delegates. Bimonthly informational emails, utilizing PNW JSA Instagram and Snapchat accounts, as well working with each chapter to ensure effective communication from chapter president and CIA agent to delegate are all essential tactics to be employed for the vibrancy of the organization.

Throughout the year, bimonthly chapter president’s meetings will be open to all interested JSAers with an emphasis on upcoming state happenings and ideas on developing chapters (that can be acted upon by all members). This will ensure that underclassmen leaders can be brought up as leaders in the organization throughout the year.

The GPR, IER, and OR will have cabinet positions created, serving under the regional mayor, whose purpose is to organize JSA events beyond state and chapter conventions. This is especially important for more geographically isolate and spread out chapters that often struggle with hosting chapter conventions frequently. These liaisons would organize JSA movie nights, discussions, speakers, and other events for members to engage in the organization. The frequency of these events would be determined by a metric goal to be determined at CabCon.
